Dance

Alright, Here we are the middle of April and guess what..... I am EXHAUSTED! We only 2 more weeks of dance. 2 Rehearsals and a recital and then we are done.... I can't wait to have a break. As much as I love all of this craziness, I definitely think I took on way more than I could handle. So I am taking suggestions for what i can change for the future. The future is still up in the air and I would love to come back in the fall. There will be some major changes when I come back. I will have alot more help. The plain and simple truth is taking on this many classes is way to much for one person. Add all the choreography and all of the bookkeeping and costuming..... Just way too much stress and takes way too much time away from my family. I also will split my girls hip hop class into a younger girls class and then an older girls class that is tied to my Jazz and lyrical class. The older girls can then decide what routine they would prefer to be in. In the fall i am also planning on putting together a competition/ performance team. It would definitely be by audition and would be a ton of fun. We also will be moving the studio to a new place. Keeping it in the basement of the motor lodge isn't working for me and I definitely need more natural light. I hate feeling like I'm in a dungeon. If anyone has any other comments or ideas let me know. I am trying to keep going, It would break my heart to not have a dance program up here. Hopefully with more help I can  bring some new ideas to our classes and freshen things up a bit.

I have been working on a Solo for the recital in April and I have been having a harder time trying to decide what I should wear that would enhance my dancing that the actual choreography. Here is what I have decided. YES? I like the teal color and it would go well with my dance ;)

Bear Lake Dance Academy is the studio I own. It's just little but I enjoy the chance to go and be able to dance every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I teach Ballet, Pointe, Cheer, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip-hop. This makes me a pretty busy girl.

Yesterday I was having issues trying to see the pricing for the usual dance costume company I buy my costumes through. I called them and because I don't have a business license, I can no longer buy costumes through them. So in a frenzy I scoured the WWW to find new costumes. This is what I came up with. We are having a Disney themed recital so it should be fun.

My Pointe class is dancing to Mother Knows Best from Tangled. They chose this Green skirt with a halter unitard. Should be cute. I'll post pictures when it gets closer. :)

My Ballet 1 class is dancing to The Golden Afternoon from Alice in Wonderland.

My little cheerleaders are dancing in the Pink and Black cheer uniform. So cute! I also have gotten them Silver and Hot Pink pompoms. They love em!

My 2 and 3 Year Old jazz Class is dancing to a song called Minnie's Yoo-Hoo. Its Mickey singing about how he loves Minnie especially when she yells YOO-HOO at him. I like the yellow one. My Gracie Girl is in the class and I can't wait to see her in this!

My 4 and 5 Year Old Jazz Lyrical class is dancing you Woodys round-up. I have chosen this leotard with a pink petty skirt and a Pink Cowgirl hat. I love this class. They are so much fun! They YODEL and everything!

My 6, 7, & 8 Year Old Jazz Lyrical class is dancing to the pop version of a dream is a wish your heart makes. They do alot of shaking and I just love fringe! So much fun! I haven't quite decided what color to do this in yet.

My 12-adult class is dancing to I Won't Say I'm in Love in Hurcules.

My Girls Hip Hop is getting these cute hoodies with a pair of black shorts and a pair of pink leg warmers. They are dancing to Only Girl In the world by Rhianna. I couldn't really figure out a Disney hip hop song but this works just as well.

My Boys Hip-Hop are dancing to Just a Dream by Nelly. I am letting them rock it out in the red cargo pants and red hat with a white shirt

 So that's my Costumes for my Spring recital. To be honest this made it alot easier for me to remember and print off this week so i can take them to class and share. I think everything is adorable and it should be a good show. April will be here before we even know it! :)
