Spout...... Just loving the word! Its even better than Spring.

I am a complete addict. My shoe rehab back fired and I bought these two new pairs from Charlotte Russe for Spring (if it ever comes)

I love a nice pair of wedges. Classic and so cute a great stand by to pump up any cute spring or summer outfit.

I love these ivory colored gladiator sandals. They are so masculine and structured. I can't wait to wear them with a pair of cute Capri's and a super feminine flowy top. AHHH I love shoes. Sorry Burt. Maybe shoe rehab will work next time.

I am praying for better weather this week than last! Still having snow after it was all gone at one point in time is simply depressing! It's April, Mother nature! I know you are smart but all of this extra snow and wetness is not OK with me and my plans to be outside almost all the time with my girls. Snow is still here but we attempted the park. Maybe we will try again tomorrow.

Burtski went to Vegas this weekend for a Boys trip. Had a blast and didn't loose to much money which makes me happy.I think every time we go we pick up new tips on how to save when you are on the very expensive strip. Guess I will be ready to be super thrifty for when I go down in June with Ms. Candy. (So excited!)

While he was gone we had a very eventful weekend. On Friday I had an appointment down at Hill AFB so I made the Journey..... Afraid that it was going to be way snowy. While I was at my appointment the girls hung out with Grandma Great, Playing Princesses and Coloring and whatever else they want to do. You know anything goes for fun at Grandma greats! When I came back went to lunch at the Kowloon (Best Chinese food in the valley) for Aunt Pam's Birthday. We all had a great time. We spent the night in Salt Lake (weather) and came home on Saturday (work)
Here is an example of whatever goes at Grandma greats, A pitched tent and whatever the girls want in her front room at the drop of a hat.... she looks pretty comfy! and like a ton of fun!
I Guess I am no better, we played camping trip in the front room while we waited fro daddy to get home on Sunday night. My brother made a comment that we used the same orange blanket when we were kids to build our forts and tents. I guess a good thing is a good things and lasts generations.
On Sunday, I was exhausted from work and getting my butt up at 6 with the Girlys. I figured it would be a perfect craft day. On our way home from Salt Lake we stopped at Joann's because I was wanting to make some throw pillows for my front room couches. I have been looking at my house recently and feel the need to add color and some personality. Its feeling a little Blah! So I found 3 different fabric remnants and got them all for around $15. I also went and looked at pillow forms and was blown away at how expensive they were.... I was like seriously one 12" pillow form for 8 bucks, NO WAY. So I just bought the big bag of poly fill for $5. I hurried my butt home to brainstorm on what i wanted to do with my new fabric and what kind of pillows I wanted to make.

I definitely was pleased with what I came up with! I am so glad I didn't buy pillow forms either because that didn't limit my creativity. I could make whatever shapes or sized I wanted. I love the fabric I found too. It definitely makes my couches feel softer and more organic. My husband doesn't understand why we need throw pillows on couches or on our bed. I guess its a design thing. A Lil ribbon, fabric, poly fill, and an hour goes a long way, Don't you think?Me and Gracie had a fun planting day about 2 weeks ago and we have some sprouts. I just love the word sprout. So energizing. I cant wait for all of these herbs to start growing and start smelling delicious and I can make home-made spa treatments. My dwarf lemon tree also came in the mail. Isn't she so cute. Gracie has named her daisy!
Who Loves spring- Fashion, color, plants, decor. Love it all!

Baby Animal Days..... We're gonna have to take a "Snow" check

This morning Mom, the Girls, and myself had big plans! We were going to drive down to Logan and go to the Baby Animal Days at the western heritage center. I though it would be fun, pony rides and baby piglets. The girls were gonna love it. Gracie was way excited. So were are about to the bottom of the canyons and I hear "SPLAT" come from my back seat. Party afraid to look back there, I took a glimpse and Gracie had thrown up all over herself and was bawling. Thank goodness Grandma was there to help with clean-up and after a wipe down we went to Old Navy to buy her some new clothes.... Since everything she was wearing had puke on it someplace. We strolled through Old Navy and just as we were about the leave the store it started raining.... and raining, So we decided we will take the Girls to a movie instead to divert a huge meltdown catastrophe about Baby Animal Days. So we went running about and got our stuff done, including getting our Spray Glow on. (Thanks Mom for letting me use one of your passes, your the bestest!) We get into the movie and I was curious about what they could possible make a whole movie plot simply about the Easter Bunny. Well they did and it was SOOO cute! We loved it and Gracie thinks its gross that the Easter Bunny poops Jelly Beans. The Easter Bunny also had a huge factory that was located on Easter Island (clever, I know) And she loved watching them make all of the Candy. I have decided that even though the theater was full she was still probably one of the loudest kids there. But she enjoyed it and so did we.... Until we walked outside. 2 inches of snow fell while we were in the movie. Now I have 2 major issues with this, 1. It's April, I'm sick of snow, and would really like to see some sunshine. 2. I had to drive an hour up the Canyon in this snow storm to get home and hopefully make it on time to dance. well 4 Cars off the road, 1 semi parked on the wrong side of the road getting chains on, 1 car in the river and, 1 retard fishtailing up the road before you even get to the canyon later and we got home. I also bought basket to put all of cleaning supplies in the Bathroom/Laundry room.... Every thing looks so much cleaner and more organized. Now can we have spring so we can officially clean? It was quite the day and we really enjoyed our time with Grandma. We hope her and Grandpa have a great time in Cancun (please take me away from this snow to some sunshine for a couple of days, PLEASE!) Daddy is also having a boys trip this weekend in Vegas. We hope he has a blast cause we are going to miss him tons and tons too! Snow God..... Mother Nature..... Whoever..... REALLY, we're sick of it, Enough already ok??

Zumba in an hour... prepare or blog? BLOG!

We have been very Busy the past several weeks. This weekend we went to the Beaver Bash, none of us skied which is rare but we had a lot of fun. while Irie was sleeping in the car and the boys were watching the box car derby (which they are swearing up and down they are going to participate in next year) I snapped a few pictures of my Lil Eskimo Gracie Girl. I though she looked sweet.

News FLASH!! (inserts news music here) Irie is finally getting more teeth. Here she is 18 months and only had 4 front teeth..... What teeth are coming in now...???? HER MOLARS?!? What? Why would your teeth come in that way silly girl. So she has been a grump, but this was one of those moments that I had to catch. She climbed up on the couch and decided that the socks in the laundry basket were the perfect nap time spot. So sweet.
I have been on a little bit of a fitness kick the past couple of weeks trying to get that stellar Bear Lake bod... and not have my butt and thighs hanging out of my solo dance costume. So with me lifting my Lil 5 lbers at home Gracie wanted to work out too. This was a trick my dad used to do for me and my brother when he was doing major step aerobics, He gave us cans. Lift those cans Gracie, your grandpa John would be proud!
Being the big sister Gracie felt the need to sit in the doll stroller and have her sister push her around..... They both seem cheerful so why not?We have a new addition to our house that does not need any introductions. Lil Penny is now my 3rd baby girl and I am loving ever minute of having her. The girls love her so much, giving her treats and making her dance is Gracie's favorite and Irie loves feeding her table scraps. (I do not) All the same we are so excited to have her and I love doing her hair ;)Irie loves stealing her doggie bed too.My sweet princess. So I bought this Lil charlie brown Christmas tree from Tai pan in march. It was so sad and needed a home. I figured what better way then to give me and the girls a craft project to do together. Here is our Easter tree. More has been added since we took the picture but how much fun is that? 3 feet is all we need for a reminder that we love to decorate trees no matter what holiday it is.

I also found these gems at Michael's for $1. Seriously how cute they are perched up in my window seal above my coffee maker. I love these decorating touches. They make me feel all warm inside. SHOUTOUT- Anyone interested in decorating my dads Festival of trees Tree for this year we are going with the theme Disco Santa. I suggest hitting the DI to try to find records and other Disco-ish things we can put on the tree. I am starting to look for stuff now. The colors theme will be red, green, and disco ball silver. Should be fun and I really hope everyone is planning on being involved.

P.s. the fun of building the girls princess dresses for the tulip festival begins tomorrow..... Should be a fun disaster. ;)

Tulip Festival and Fabric Scrap Slippers

In April, every year, Thanksgiving Point holds there annual Tulip Festival and this year I was so excited to see the they are holding there first annual Tulip Princess Pageant. Believe me I am not a mom who wants to have anything to do with spray tanning my child or sticking fake teeth in there mouths (which is just weird anyway) However, this pageant seemed a lot more low key, kinda like our raspberry princess pageant up here for raspberry days.

Every year my Aunt Pam always tries to get everyone to go to the tulip festival because it is a good family fun and a great reason to get us all together. I see it the same way. Putting my girls in the pageant would be a great way for everyone to have a fun reason to go down and to be part of the wholesome family fun of the tulip festival. (Aunt Pam is besides herself and I'm glad we can go down and have some fun)
Here is the link if you are interested in the tulip festival or getting your Lil ones in the pageant as well should be a ton of fun! http://www.thanksgivingpoint.com/calendar/events/tulipfestival/index.html

Gracie has been playing princess 24-7 for the past month. I guess it's good practice for the pageant and she will have so much fun with all of the other kids. So me and Grandma Great had a shopping day and went and bought fabric for there costumes, they are going to be shiny and poofy and everything a princess should be. Princess dress construction should begin tomorrow.... Wish me luck.

I figured I would post a couple of pics for grandma great and aunt Pam of the D.I. gems they found for the girls. Love you both and thank you for the fun dresses.

I also made these slippers for Gracie out of some fabric scraps, they turned out so cute! When I make Irie's I will post a tutorial so if you folks would like to make some for your Lil one you can as well!
Happy Crafting!

Guess whose back?

Hello ALL,

I finally have had a minute to sit back down and type to my hearts content..... Today, I will chat ya up about Vegas, and post some pics of some new twirly skirts and aprons..... Turned out soooo Cute!

Me and Burt went to Vegas for our 3rd anniversary and had a lot of fun. We left on the March 1st and dropped the girls off with Grandma. Grandma and Grandma great are amazing and watched the girls for the 4 days that we were gone. We got to the airport and believe me security in SL International is insane.... SOOO SLOW! We made it through and got on our plane. Played some scrabble during our flight and landed in a 70 degree paradise.... believe me the weather was enough to make me have a heat stroke after our freezing weather, constant snow storms, and 4 feet of snow on my back porch.

We went and checked into the Luxor into a nice room and went down to the casino and lost $20 bucks right off the bat..... Those darn slots! We wandered around the Luxor and Mandalay bay and enjoyed our sense of adult time and some freedom from the kidlets. (to be honest I was missing them from the time I dropped em off But me and Burt were definitely over due for some serious "US" time) We played around in the casinos and 3 free (very bad) tequila shots later, I was ready to go and get ready for our first night on the town. Wearing my cute red heels (featured in a previous post) We made our way over to the coyote ugly bar.

Now I'm not generally a drinker anymore, to be honest I rarely find the time now that I am a dedicated mommy and feel that bedtime should be around 8:30 every evening for myself. I was already enjoying myself, We got there and it was happy hour.... Being a girl on a budget, I love happy hour. Before you know it I was a sloppy Andrea dancing on a Bar in a pair of red heels.... Loving the attention I slipped and fell, realizing at this point how sloppy I was I made my way to the stair to get off the bar and no longer be the center of attention. Slipping again down the stairs, Burt saw the look on my face and new it was time to go and eat and try to unsloppify his wifey.

My very sloppy self is walking down the strip in the hot red heels, that are killing my feet even though the rest of my body is completely numb, looking for somewhere to eat. Finding The hard rock we went in ate and Burt had to carry me home via piggyback. Whoo, what a first night that was.

The second day consisted of the SPA, Ahhh I loved every minute, especially the massaging of my lil pigglets that I had traumatized the night before. We hung out enjoyed each other. Went to the nightclub and realized that everything in Vegas is beyond over priced, Girl on a budget never likes over priced! And Burt was Grumpy because he doesn't like overpriced either. we hung out a ton at the Arcades because it was cheaper than gambling in the Casinos and we got tickets to get the girls little trinkets. They love the kazoos, My and Burt on the other hand DO NOT! One of our frequents to the arcades I happened to loose my drivers Licence..... Great right. At last I had my expired military ID to get me through the rest of the weekend (No harm- no foul)

The third day was the day of the Jabawokeez and me and Burt were so excited! We hung out by the pool all day which was amazing and everything that I had hoped it would be. I miss sun and am hoping to get a killer tan this summer. The red head is going to be bronze, count my words! That evening we ventured down the strip the the Monte Carlo, Being a smarty pants this time, The heels went in my purse and I walked down the strip in my flip flops.

We went to dinner at the sporting house and sat right up front on our chairs in front of the Jazz game while we ate dinner (quite possibly Burts favorite part) We then went over to the show and got blown away. It was funny and smart and the dancing was amazing. I loved every minute of it. After that me and Burt just happened to wander into a sports bar where we watched a beer pong tournament and enjoyed some cheap brewskis and really enjoyed the end of our trip.

All in all besides the price of everything..... We had a great time. Makes me excited to go back with Candy this June for my tech school reunion in June. Were going to have a blast and I definitely have some great ideas on how to save for my budget!
I Recently made these cute Aprons for the girls for when we are cooking, baking or when they are playing kitchen in the toy room. I made them a little big so they have room to grow and they were pretty easy to make. Irie is not into photos and was getting over a cold bug and already didn't want to pose.... well Lesson learned, But I can't help but post these cause even though she is so sad.... I can't help but think she looks so cute!
I Made both Girls this sweet twirly skirt that was actually pretty simple. Just lots and lots of gathering for the ruffles. This little project also made me wish that I had a serger! Maybe for my Birthday (hint hint BURT) All the same so adorable and is making me wish for spring more and more. Common SUN melt all this snow so my girls and cruise around in these!

Hoping everyone is having a happy Friday, I know I am!

Sickies..... :(

Well this morning Burt got a phone call from his cousin at 6 am...... after that we laid in bed for about an hour and I just couldn't sleep. After I got up and tended to my rank morning breath The girls were up and out and poor sweet Irie just looked miserable. So I went into the Kitchen and made us all some waffles and thought maybe she was just tired and she would perk up..... Well after 20 minutes of snuggling and rocking her she was back in bed at 7:50.

Gracie is also the Queen of acting like she is sick at age 3. I'm gonna have a really hard time once school comes around and she want to skip. At breakfast she told me that her belly hurt and that she needed some medicine, So after I gave Irie some Tylenol for her fever I rinsed out the syringe and filled it with water and gave Gracie a little taste. Seriously 2 seconds later (Yes, I mean one Mississippi, two Mississippi seconds) She exclaimed I feel so much better and then ate the rest of her waffle and what was left of her sisters. Maybe I should just feed her a placebo more often. :)

Today's Craft- The Yellow Brick Road Skirt out of my fabric scraps book. Pictures to come. Hopefully tomorrow :)

This and That

My Girls Hugging on Valentines Day...Can You feel the love?Princess Gracie in her new Princess DressShe insisted I get a picture of her Crown. This is how a princess holds her dress to walk upstairs. She was very serious when showing me how to do this. (Apparently she is a very talented tap dancing princess too)
I have been sick for about the last week. Burt swears up and down that I have major issues and have no immune system what so ever, I simply blamed my busy life and let it go. He told me I needed to eat more things off the floor or go eat some deer poop and that would solve my lack immunty. As hillarious as he thought it was, I though it was disgusting and shuddered at the thought. Even though I was sick I have had a fantastic crafty DIY week.
I refinished an old piano bench that I picked up at the DI for $6. It was ugly and now its teal. I mean all I really did was spray paint it with a can that claimed the color was "Lagoon" But I still like it and gives Burt a place next to his chair to put his cereal bowl, drink, wii remote, whatever.

Before

After
I love "Lagoon " Paint.

I am so excited because I finally got a chance to re-order some scentsy..... My house is a lil bit stanky (not really, it just doesn't smell delicious like mocha-doodle or sugar cookie) and I have cleaned my house so maybe the idea of a yummy smelling clean house was in order.

I was wondering through Hobby Lobby the other day... as I usually do every time I go to Logan, and I found myself looking at a rack of books. Books on DIY weddings, making fondant cakes, beadwork, scrapbooking for St. Patty's Day and I came across a book that I have fallen in LOVE with. Sewing Bits & Pieces- 35 Projects Using Your Fabric Scraps By Sandi Henderson. Having a garbage bag full of scraps from my different projects I have worked on over the 3 years I have been back I was intrigued. Flipping through the pages I found two tutorials on how to make a stuffed Owl and a Stuffed Bunny. Well think about buying a scentsy buddy but not wanting to dish out the $50 for each of girls I thought why not make them these cute stuffed animals buy the scentsy packs and make a pouch to put the smell good in and then there bedroom would smell good too. So I did and this is what the finished product looks like. They love them and they seriously only took me about an hour each. Ahhh, I love easy.
I have been working on Skirts Skirts Skirts for my girls since it is going to be a skirt kinda spring. They definitely look like they are home sewn but the girls chose the fabric and they love them so far. Still have alot more to work on but here is a begining look at what we have gotten done.

Gracie wanted this Purple Sparkly Ballerina Fabric and points to the Blonde and says this is gracie and the brunette and says this is sister and the lil black girl and says this is mommy, I guess there wasn't a red head. Gracie Also wanted this Lil' Mermaid Fabric. Ever since her grandma bought her Lil' Mermaid Panties she has been way into her. She asked me the first time she wore them, "Mommy, when you were a lil girl, did you have Lil' Mermaid panties too?" Somewhat shocked and thinking about it I answered, "Yes, I am actually pretty sure that I had Lil' Mermaid Panties growing up too"
What a cheeser. Burt Said She Looks like a Pliglet. (Coming from an FLDS fam I guess this is there slang for a polygamist kid)FOR THE REVEAL.... One of my Bustle Skirts...... Totally cute, frilly and Girly. Irie looks so sweet. Pigtails and skirts..... totally girl. She doesn't stand very still so getting photos of my Sweet irie can tend to be a challenge. She has a ballerina skirt that matches her sisters too.
I recently bought a waffle maker and am so in love..... My family is big into breakfast so buying a waffle maker for waffles is delish and super easy..... But having a waffle maker for brownies.... WHAT? say it isn't so! I mixed up a regular brownie mix put it in the waffle maker for about 5 mins and poof, you already have hot brownies that are yummy. and doesn't everyone like the brownies on the side of the pan? This is like that... BUT ALL OVER! A Little icecream and chocolate syrup and voila a delish brownie waffle treat that took no time at all..... Seriosuly! I think I am going to try chicken and waffles next.
I am only 7 days away from getting on a plane and flying to Vegas. I have my sitters figured out (Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Papa, and Grandma Great! You are amazing. I hope you get some great quality time with the girls and are ready to send them home as fast as you can by the time we gat back ;))On The agenda...... Gambling, Going out dancing, eating, swimming, go to the Jabawokeez, maybe another show if we have time, golfing, I'm enjoying a spa treatment or two, and roller coasters. Can't wait. My anniversary is going to be amazing!
